Dinner at Backwell House

One of my absolute favourite things about Bristol is that one minute, you can be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city centre; the next (well, maybe the next after fifteen minutes) you can be staring over rolling hills and blue skies as far as the eye can see. Keepers Kitchen & Bar

When an email plopped into my inbox asking if I’d like to go and see the redesign of the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel and their brand new restaurant, Keepers, I was intrigued. I’d visited it previously a few years ago and had a perfectly pleasant evening there, but with the promise of Victorian architecture mixed with Bristol’s vibrant street-art scene and a relaxed restaurant vibe, I was looking forward to seeing how they’d given it a fresh new look. Launch Party: Brooks Country House

One night back in December, after a few mulled wines in St Nicks market, I remember stumbling upon a set of gates that led to an amazing-looking hotel.
