Top Summer Workouts

I’ll admit it, I’ve been in a bit of an exercise rut this summer. Actually, that’s not true – I started the summer on a high, hitting some weightlifting goals and keeping my running speed up. But a hot day where I pushed myself too hard in half-marathon training gave me a knee injury that has put me off going heavy or fast, pretty much wiping out my usual exercise routine. After a couple of weeks feeling sorry for myself, I decided that I could still do yoga (SO much yoga) and I could head to MoveGB and see what else was out there to satisfy my exercise cravings.

My Move GB Experience

A couple of years ago, a friend started talking about this great new thing called Move GB. He reckoned  he was paying the same amount of money a month as he would on a gym membership, but that he could do activities across the city. I was loving my gym membership back then, doing a couple of classes a week to make it economical, but when he asked if we wanted to give it a go on a free friend trial, I thought it might be worth trying it out. And boy, am I glad I did!

Carly’s Killer Christmas Workout

Launch Party: barrecore

I was terrible at ballet when I was small. I mean, really terrible. I remember prancing around our school hall thinking I was about to become the next Billy Elliot, before catching sight of myself in the mirror and thinking that maybe I would stick with swimming after all. So when I was invited to try barrecore, the ballet-inspired fitness class that has spread across London like wildfire, I thought it might be time to once more try and gain some elegance whilst working out.
