Sunny Friday afternoons are meant for escaping from work early and enjoying some cocktails, so when I was invited to check out new Harbourside venue Steinbeck & Shaw after work last Friday, I jumped at the chance.
Occupying the former Myu bar underneath Pryzm, Steinbeck & Shaw gives a fresh new feel to the Harbourside partying scene. The walls and sofas are covered in paint and graffiti, making any Bristolian feel at home, and unique features like an upside down horse and a fairground ride car booth add a touch of uniqueness to proceedings.
The charming LP menus (complete with actual vinyl record…though I’m not sure how well these will fare through a weekend drinking session) showcase a good range of drinks, including cocktails, beer and wine, as well as some pretty darn delicious-sounding dogs and burgers.Spirits are listed by the bottle price, ready for the late night venue vibe, but rest assured that you can get singles and doubles – I especially liked that my favourite Gin Mare was on the menu, and that it came in an on-trend tin rather than a plastic glass.
With 50% off drinks every day from 5pm and an outside area that gets the sun at bang-on work kicking out time, Steinbeck & Shaw is the best way to start your Friday night…or any night for that matter. And if you fancy making it a big one, they have offers and booths to suit any party needs you may have. Time to pony up!
